THE HAWK PROJECT was created to
promote spiritual awareness and creativity through a blend of Native
American music, jazz and free improvisation.
The messages spoken of in The Hawk
Project are of the earth. The music
is designed to help us remember that as human beings we are all one
nation together and that we share Mother Earth with the other nations
including the winged ones, the four-legged, the swimmers, the
creepy-crawlers and the plant nations. The pure tones of Native flutes,
the intensity of pow-wow drums, hand
drums, rattles, along with bass clarinet, saxophone, keyboards &
upright bass, fuse together into a music filled with beauty, depth,
love & tears and finally hope for future generations...
DENNIS YERRY, founder of the Hawk Project is
proud to have collaborated and worked with some of the finest musicians
and choreographers in the world today, including Jay Ungar and Molly Mason, R.
Carlos Nakai, James Earl Jones, Valerie Naranjo, Sloan Wainwright,
Dorothy Papadakos, Jack DeJohnette, Kenny Burrell, Dan Brubeck, Perry
Robinson, Michael Greyeyes, Laura Dean and Marla Bingham.
